Input data set: Lightning (ISIMIP3b)

Climate related forcing: Monthly gridded (0.5º) atmospheric forcing –Flash rate monthly climatology and Future flash rate–, covering the period 2010-2099.

Prepared for ISIMIP from the Flash Rate Monthly Climatology from Cecil (2006) and NASA Global Hydrology Resource Center DAAC (Cecil, 2006; https://ghrc.nsstc.nasa.gov/hydro/details/lohrmc).

Please note that 'Future flash rate' data is the input data for the varlightning sensitivity experiments. Separate datasets are available for ssp126, ssp370, and ssp585. Please note, as this dataset is produced using UKESM output, modelers should only use this data together with UKESM climate forcing.
