Input data set: MRI-ESM2-0 (hist-nat, ssp119, ssp245, ssp460, ssp534-over)

Protocol relation: Secondary
Data Type: Simulated climate
Simulation rounds: ISIMIP3b
Description:

Simulated atmospheric climate

Pre-industrial (1601-1849), historical (1850-2014) and future (2015-2100) conditions provided based on the bias adjustment and statistical downscaling to 0.5 degree horizontal resolution of CMIP6 daily output from MRI-ESM2-0, using ISIMIP3BASD v2.5.0 and W5E5 v2.0.

CMIP6 experiments used in ISIMIP3b are:
- hist-nat: hurs, huss, pr, prsn, ps, rlds, rsds, sfcwind, tas, tasmax, tasmin
- ssp119 (SSP1-RCP1.9): pr, rlds, rsds, sfcwind, tas, tasmax, tasmin
- ssp245 (SSP2-RCP4.5): pr, rlds, rsds, sfcwind, tas, tasmax, tasmin
- ssp460 (SSP4-RCP6.0): pr, rlds, rsds, sfcwind, tas, tasmax, tasmin
- ssp534-over (SSP5-RCP3.4): hurs, huss, pr, prsn, ps, rlds, rsds, sfcwind, tas, tasmax, tasmin

Scenarios: hist-nat, ssp119, ssp245, ssp460, ssp534-over
Variables: hurs, huss, sfcWind, tasmax, tas, tasmin, rlds, rsds, prsn, ps, pr
Specifications

The method used for bias adjustment and statistical downscaling in ISIMIP3b is version 2.4.1 of ISIMIP3BASD (Lange, 2019a, 2020). The observational reference dataset used for bias adjustment and statistical downscaling in ISIMIP3b is version 1.0 of WFDE5 over land merged with ERA5 over the ocean (W5E5; Lange, 2019b; Cucchiet al., 2020).

Detailed information can be found in the bias-correction fact sheet here: https://www.isimip.org/gettingstarted/input-data-bias-correction, and here: https://www.isimip.org/gettingstarted/isimip3b-bias-correction/

NOTE: Humidity and pressure data were not bias-adjusted for ssp119, ssp245 and ssp460 since they were not available for some models, and we preferred no coverage over partial coverage. We aim to provide these data in the future, if available from the GCM side. We expect to update this information around January 2023.

Original GCM data have been extracted from the CMIP6 archive.
