Input data set: GSWP3-ERA5

Protocol relation: Protocol
Data Type: Observed/Historical climate
Simulation rounds: ISIMIP3a, ISIMIP4a
Description:

Climate related forcing: Atmospheric forcings - standard.

GSWP3 and W5E5 global meteorological forcing data processed for ISIMIP3a. Daily data covering 1801-1900 (spinclim), 1851-1900 (transclim) and 1901-2025 (obsclim, counterclim) on a 0.5°x0.5° lat-lon grid.

Scenarios: counterclim, obsclim, spinclim, transclim
Variables: hurs, huss, pr, prsn, ps, rlds, rsds, sfcWind, tas, tasmax, tasmin
Specifications

Combination of ERA5 for 1940-2025 with GSWP3 v1.09 (Kim, 2017) homogenized to ERA5 for 1901-1939. The homogenization reduces discontinuities at the 1939/1940 transition and was done using the ISIMIP3BASD v2.5.2 bias adjustment method (Lange, 2019 and Lange, 2022).
