Missing values in Princeton data set // Regional climate input data files now available

Posted on Nov. 12, 2014

We would like to share with you two pieces of information regarding the climate input data sets for ISI-MIP2.

1. Missing values in Princeton data set

It has come to our attention that in the Princeton data set, 10 grid cells in south eastern Europe have no temperature data (tas, tasmin, tasmax) for November, 1987.  This problem was already present in the original data set.  In the new files, the effected cells have been filled with values extrapolated from their adjacent cells. The old files have been renamed with the suffix *.nans.nc4 .

If you have already run your simulations with the old data, and do not have time to run your model again with the correction, please make sure that you note this in the metadata of your simulation output files.

2. Regional climate input data files now available

For those of you performing regional simulations, region-specific files are now available for all observational climate data sets and all climate variables.  These files can now be downloaded to avoid unnecessary data traffic.
