New ISIMIP3 climate input data available: Methane, SSP5-3.4-OS scenario

Posted by Martin Park on March 2, 2022

Dear ISIMIP data users,

We are happy to inform you that there are new ISIMIP3 climate forcing data available:

  • Version 1.1 of the atmospheric composition data now include files for CH4 concentrations, both for ISIMIP3a and 3b (please find further information here: 3a, 3b). The CH₄ time series have been extracted for the years until 2014 from Meinshausen et al. (2017) while data from 2015 onwards is taken from Meinshausen et al. (2020). The 2015-2019 values were filled with data from the ESRL Global Monitoring Laboratory website (Dlugokencky & Tans, 2019). We are grateful to Sian Kou-Giesbrecht for her help with localizing the data.
  • Version 1.1 of the secondary ISIMIP3b bias-adjusted atmospheric climate input data now includes files for the ssp534-over scenario. Please keep in mind that secondary input data is not part of the ISIMIP protocol and respective simulations are not needed to complete the ISIMIP3 simulations set up.

We hope these updates serve your needs and support your research endeavors.

With best greetings from Potsdam,

the ISIMIP data team at PIK
