Papers & ISIMIP2b data uploads

Posted on Jan. 9, 2017

We hope you have started the year refreshed and well. This email contains information about:

  • Paper ideas for ISIMIP2b data;
  • Folder structure for your ISIMIP2b uploads;
  • Published papers using ISIMIP input or output data (Fast Track or ISIMIP2a).
Paper ideas for ISIMIP2b data
Amongst the cross-sectoral science team and sectoral coordinators we have started to compile a list of paper ideas based on the ISIMIP2b simulations, which we consider to be interesting, pertinent and achievable. We would like to invite you to take a look at this list, by clicking on this link, and add to it with your own paper ideas. We are in the process of looking into the possibility of a special issue or other options in a high-ranking journal to house these papers.

Folder structure for your ISIMIP2b upload

A folder structure has now been created on the DKRZ server for ISIMIP2b simulation uploads:
/mnt/lustre01/work/bb0820/data/upload_area_ISIMIP2b/[YOUR_SECTOR]/[YOUR_MODEL]/_tmp/
There are then four subfolders: future, future-extended, historical & pre-industrial.

When uploading your data, please divide them according to these four time periods (1661-1860, 1861-2005, 2006-2099, 2100-2299) and place files only in the _tmp folders. If you would like to avoid having to upload data multiple times, we recommend sending through a single test file first, which Matthias Buechner can check for formatting, before uploading all files.
If there is not yet a folder for your model, please email Matthias Buechner: buechner@pik-potsdam.de.

Papers using ISIMIP data
Could you please let us know about any papers that have been written using ISIMIP data (Fast Track, ISIMIP2a etc) that don’t yet appear here? We’d like to keep this list as up-to-date as possible.
