Updates on the ISI-MIP data set

Posted on June 7, 2012

This is just a brief email to alert you to some updates to the ISI-MIP data set.

1. A decision has been reached to adopt option 2 (see the Bias Correction fact sheet under www.isimip.org > Bias correction) as the standard for ensuring consistency between the relative and specific humidity data sets.  This means that the interpolated but un-bias-corrected GCM relative humidity data should be used.  These data for the HadGEM2-ES model are now available on the DKRZ server.  Those modelling teams requiring specific humidity should then use the formula given in the fact sheet to convert to relative humidity.

2. Monthly short-wave radiation data is now available for the HadGEM2-ES model on the DKRZ server.

It has been great to hear that many of you are well on your way to producing results for the HadGEM2-ES model.  We  very much look forward to providing you with more data in the near future, and to getting started on the exciting analysis phase of the project.

As always, if you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
